#999 Limit Break's back
Promising a testnet launch
Not as quite exciting as Bitcoin moving out of Satoshi’s genesis wallet, nevertheless the news that Limit Break is launching something comes a close second for blockchain gaming aficionados.
Raising $200 million in August 2022 and running various experiments via its DigiDaigaku NFT collection into 2023, the company has been quiet of late — at least in terms of actual product it might be building.
There have been rumors about a mobile game based on DigiDaigaku, with the development team based out of Japan, but in recent years the company’s public activity has all been about its work on Ethereum standards such as ERC-721 and ERC-20C, the oft-mentioned Apptoken protocol.
But now something is stirring with the news Limit Break is launching a new “blockchain experience”.
Aside from the surprise that it’s launching something, the real surprise is that the thing it’s launching appears to be blockchain infrastructure — at least that would be the obvious assumption of the word “testnet”.
